“BE THE VOICE”

for animals who cannot speak.

“The Eau Claire County Humane Association is known for its compassion and care. The time is now to build a new humane association that will offer more space and an overall healthier environment to enhance the quality of life for our community’s animals.”

“Be the Voice” Campaign Progress

Over 50 Years of Caring

Eau Claire Humane Association (ECCHA) has been an important part of our community, providing comfort and hope to many. Area residents have come to rely on our services to rescue and care for abandoned and homeless animals. Animals arrive at our shelter scared and alone. Through our programs, they are given warmth, food, safety and the opportunity to find a new home where they also bring joy to others. The results of our work are evident to the community: animal lives saved and human lives enriched.

“OUR MISSION is to be a voice for all animals by providing education, resources, and support for the community, compassionate care for homeless animals until they can be placed in forever homes, and coordination with other organizations to promote animal welfare.”

The Need for a New Facility

In the over 25 years since our current facility was built, our shelter has aged. At the same time, the standard of care in our industry has increased and become more focused on saving lives. In order to continue providing quality care to all animals who need it, we must build a new facility.

A Project Supported By the Community

“Their staff and volunteers deeply care about the animals and have been very resourceful with a less than ideal facility. By increasing their space, they can improve their care and allow for meaningful one-on-one experiences with prospective families. The design of the new building will better accommodate the animals and increase their quality of life while waiting to be adopted.”

— Luci Gorell, ECCHA Volunteer & “Be the Voice” Campaign Advisor

“Eau Claire County Humane Association (ECCHA) is very caring and helpful to the community, which is why so many people have great admiration for the work they do. They are all heart, as a boots on the ground organization true to their mission to find forever homes for homeless animals in our county.”

— Dr. Daniel and Dr. Kerry Kincaid, “Be the Voice” Campaign Honorary Co-Chairs

“Dr. Walter Klein had a vision for the [Eau Claire] Humane Association when he donated 15 acres of land to the shelter many years ago. Today, other shelters look at ECCHA as an industry leader. By including better lighting, updated ventilation, the right materials and more space, best practices are a top priority in the new plans.”
