About Eau Claire County Humane Association (ECCHA)

Our History

The Eau Claire County Humane Association (ECCHA) was organized in 1968 to address the growing need for care of unwanted and abandoned animals in our area. Since then, we have continuously served the community, providing care to animals in need and matching many of them with their forever homes. We are governed by an 11-member board of directors and have over 400 voting members of the Association. The ECCHA is the only open admission shelter in our community, accepting all domestic and small agricultural animals regardless of any medical or behavioral issues. We work to rehabilitate the animals so that they can eventually be matched with families of their own.
